Celebrating Nutrition Week To Raise Awareness on Weight Problems

 

GTIS celebrated the nutrition week which started from Monday to Friday (July 27-31, 2015) with the theme: “Correct weight through proper nutrition and exercise.”

Students were asked to bring their own packed lunch from Monday until Thursday with the assigned vegetable and fruit for each day. The culminating program was held on Friday which had many activities for all grade levels. In the morning, Zumba or dancercise (a combination of dance and exercise) was held at the volleyball court for all students which was led by Mrs. Shena Yulo. The advisers also conducted lecture about the awareness in living a healthy lifestyle. There was also a food exhibit during lunch that featured popular healthy dishes around the world. Fruit carving and poster making was also showcased the talents in creativity and imagination of the Goodtreenians. The awarding for all of the activities was held last and the announced winners had very inspiring works.

The celebration was indeed successful because of the cooperation and unity of all school members. Good Tree International School succeeded in raising the awareness on the problem of obesity in our country to all of the students.
